Canadian Oil Producer Asset Map
Asset facts: FY2025 annual information forms and Imperial 10-K, plus Q2 2026 results (reported late Jul–Aug 2026). Research date Oct 8, 2026. Pin positions are approximate; see the position note below the map.
Production sites and processing capacity for CNQ, SU, CVE and IMO. The top map shows the whole footprint, with every refinery sized by capacity. The Alberta map shows where the oil sands and heavy-oil production sits. Hover or tab to any marker for owners, volumes and the basis each number is stated on.

Reading the markers
Colour is the company that operates the site. A coloured outline in a second colour means a second company holds an interest (Syncrude, Terra Nova, White Rose). Dashed circles are regional anchors: the company reports volumes for an area, not a facility, so the circle marks roughly where that activity sits, not a pin.
What the map can and can't tell you
Position. Mines, upgraders and refineries are placed within about 3–10 km. In-situ projects and regional areas are placed from a town or region anchor and can be 25–120 km off; the oil sands mining cluster north of Fort McMurray is tight enough that neighbouring mines can overlap. Use the map for regional pattern, not site adjacency.
Volumes. Production figures are shown in the tooltip, never encoded in marker size, because the bases differ: gross vs. company share, bitumen vs. upgraded SCO, Q2 2026 vs. full-year 2025. CNQ reports Horizon and AOSP as one combined number, and Primrose with Kirby.
Refinery capacity. Refinery squares use the best site-level figure available: Imperial's 10-K, Suncor's and Cenovus's annual information forms, and EIA data for Lima. Suncor's network was re-rated from 466 to 511 kbbl/d on Jan 1, 2026 but the site split wasn't disclosed, so its squares show pre-rerate figures. Cenovus's reported U.S. total (364.8 kbbl/d) is below the sum of its three site figures (about 392), so the bars use the company totals and the squares are indicative only.
